Is It Possible That You're Keeping Your Partner Unhealthy?
As we just learned, one of the best ways to keep your partner eating healthy
foods is to eat healthy foods yourself. But it is also the same way that you can
keep your partner eating unhealthy foods, too. You can help your partner eat
healthily by swapping out unhealthy foods for healthier options. One way
you can do this is to take a good look at your weekly grocery shopping, as well
as the kinds of meals you or they may be cooking at home. Fresh fruit and veg
should absolutely be part of your daily dietary intake, so if those are absent,
make sure that you start to include them. Ask your partner what kinds of fruit
and veg they like and make a list. Add your own choices until you have filled
out the section of your shopping list that deals with fruit and veg. Next, move
on to carbs. Most folk like to have at least one or two pasta meals, and often a
meal or two which includes rice. Try going for brown rice rather than white, and
if you are getting pasta, consider a whole wheat option. These will add roughage
to your diet and cut down on how much sugar in the form of carbs you are taking
in. Look at meat, next, if you are not a vegetarian.
Make sure that you are getting lean meats and cut down on the fattier products.
Try to avoid heavily processed meats as these tend to be packing a lot of
preservatives, flavorings, colorings, and the foe of all healthy eaters, sodium.
We all need a little salt in our diets, but too much is definitely a bad thing.
Add fish to your diet even if you already think you are getting enough of it. As
long as you are not vegan, fish is a very important part of every diet, as it
contains omega oils that are essential for our brains to develop and function
properly. Make sure that you are getting a certain amount of calcium in the form
of milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products, as animal fat and animal
protein are necessary to keep your body renewing certain muscle and other tissue
cells. Starting out with a few simple ideas like this, you will soon have a
fully functional shopping list that will keep you both healthy!
