History Of The Nightlife In Glasgow
Glasgow, Scotland is one of those places that we all want to travel to, but do you know
any of the history that resides here? First of all, have you ever heard of the bar
called Dear Green Place? Did you also know that that bar is the longest
continuous bar in all of the United Kingdom. These are just some of the facts that we
want to give to you. That way you can recite them on your date and look like you know a
thing or two.
So, we have already told you about the longest running bar in the Glasgow, but we should
dig a little bit deeper than that. In 1950, Glasgow was not looking so hot and the
winters were harsh and smog was rolling in. However, that just meant people flocked to
the bars to escape all of that. Bars were the place to go to warm up and have a good
conversation. Also during this time, did you know that, they campaigned for a
mass x-ray and eradicated tuberculosis. A pretty major success.
It was also during this time that new homes started being made to accommodate the ever
growing population of the city. Skyscrapers started popping up everywhere. This small
town grew into a city. With more people and more money meant more bars and clubs and the
scene has been thriving ever since.
Now a days, Glasgow has some of the hottest bars in all of the UK. It took a while to
get to this point considering they are an industrial town. It may have taken a few
decades for them to get to the status of hottest bars and clubs and Glasgow date spots,
but they have it and it isn't going anywhere.
If this wasn't enough reason to visit Glasgow, let us just tell you about how Glasgow
has given us some amazing performers including John Barrowman for all of your
